Do you love wreaths? Are you looking for something unique when it comes to a wreath for your home? While I LOVE burlap wreaths, I wanted something different for the Patriotic months of May, June, and July. I logged on to Pinterest and found a clothespin wreath. They looked simple, quick, and inexpensive so I decided to give it a try.
What you will need to create your clothespin wreath:
- Wooden clothes pins (Check Walmart) I bought 100 clothespins for $1.88
- Spray paint
- Ribbon
- Decorations such as sticker stars
- Wire Wreath form (Any craft store)
3 Easy Steps for a super cute, clothespin wreath
Step One- Clip the clothespins to the wire wreath form. Keep in mind there are a variety of ways to do this so there is no wrong way. I clipped my pins onto the wreath form before I painted so I would know exactly how many clothespins I would need. This is important because I knew exactly how many red, white, and blue clothespins to paint.
Step Two- Spray Paint your wreath form and your clothespins. I spray painted the wreath form white because I wanted to make sure the wire form blended into my clothespin. To paint my clothespins, I clipped them to the top of a box, which made it super easy to paint both sides of the clothespins at one time. It also made for fast and easy drying.
Step Three-Clip the clothespins back onto the wire wreath form. Add a ribbon to hang, and then add any decorations you want. I chose to use a square piece of cork-board to make a mini bulletin board because I wanted to be able to write and change the sentiment with each month.
May- “Always Remember”
June-”You’re a Grand Old Flag”
July- “Happy 4th”
I hand-wrote my sentiment out; however, if you don’t like your handwriting, you can print your sentiment, then pin it to the cork board.
That’s it! Just 3 simple steps to create a clothespin wreath with beautiful results. These wreaths are fun and super inexpensive to create.
