Decorating for a scary Halloween is easy, but not when it comes to a cute Halloween. Consider trying to decorate a cute dining room table. What makes it difficult? Well, it’s hard to find cute Halloween, not scary Halloween decorations; therefore, it’s time to be intentional and crafty to make a cute Halloween tablescape come to life with perfect cuteness.
Where do I start to create a Cute Halloween tablescape?
Starting with the place settings, I used black charger plates from Hobby Lobby. Why Black? Because the black charger plates work as a base September through November. When it comes to decorating, I use the same basic items for a 3 month stretch. Check out my patriotic yard decor and how I kept the same basic design for 3 months.
Next, I layered my good china and napkins. Finding cute napkin rings and napkins proved difficult, so I got crafty and intentional to create my own.
- 3 yards fabric
- Sewing machine or hem tape
- First, cut the fabric into 21 in squares.
- Fold each side 1/2 inch and iron the edge on the wrong side.
- Fold the iron edge again 1/2 inch and pin down.
- Finally, stitch or use iron on hem tape to finish the edges.
Creating Mummy Napkin rings:
- Empty Toilet paper Rolls
- Scrap white fabric or white bandages
- Google Eyes
- First, paint the empty toilet paper roll.
2. Next, wrap strips of white fabric or white bandages around the roll.
3. Finally, hot glue google eyes to create the mummy face.
Cute Halloween Tablescape Silverware
Check out the beaded silverware tutorial because the candy corn beads are just the cutest thing I have ever seen. Candy corn definitely adds extra cuteness to any table.
Final touches for a Cute Halloween tablescape
Three yards of black satin fabric are the runner for the center. For September, I layered the fall leaves and pumpkins, then October’s cuteness came with my sweet witch (off to the left) which was given to me by a friend along with more pumpkins, which were “carved” with cute faces.
I created the Halloween Boo Candlesticks for the center and moved the September vase off to the right.
Moving from a Cute Halloween Tablescape to Thanksgiving
It will be super easy to prep this table for Thanksgiving. Remove the witch, the carved pumpkins and the Halloween Boo Candlesticks and exchange for a turkey and other Thanksgiving items. The Halloween beaded silverware will be removed and replaced with my good flatware. Finally, the Mummy napkin rings and green napkins will be replaced with tan or cranberry colored napkins tied with ribbon and a sprig of rosemary from the garden.
Hoppy Super Cute Halloween!!!
